To get this draft done, I’ll be up working at 5am for the foreseeable future.
So far this morning I’ve written 346 words. This…is not great. But the weight of these 346 words means so much more to the full manuscript.
I’m not one for holding myself to word count goals. 10 powerful, meaningful words that take weeks, months, to get just right, can break your draft wide open, making way for 10,000 to spill from your fingers. The content is what’s important.
I strive for plot goals and character arc goals over word count. Doesn’t matter how many words it takes to get there. I just need to arrive.
